Tobias Harris ranked as a Top 10 in Power Forward heading into the 2022-23 season

The offseason hype surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers has been on full display heading into the 2022-23 season.
One member of the 76ers that we rarely see popping up in any type of headlines is Tobias Harris. The only time we really heard about Harris is when he got married and then joked with fans on Instagram about potential trade packages to land Kevin Durant.
Well, it turns out, one media outlet is extremely high on Tobias Harris, ranking him the No. 9 power forward in the league and they aren’t wrong.
HoopsHype had this to say about Tobias Harris.
Last season, Harris was his usual reliable self for the Philadelphia 76ers, good for 17.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.5 assists nightly while shooting 36.7 percent from three. He was also solid defensively, where his quick feet and plus-size allowed him to defend swingmen, power forwards and some guards when called upon to do so.
Harris may never be an All-Star, but in his role, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more trustworthy power forward who can score buckets in isolation, shoot off the dribble, space the floor and defend multiple positions.
Queue the “but his contract” folks on social media. Not today dorks.
The argument against Harris for having a huge contract has, and always will be a dumb one. If someone agreed to pay you a shit load of money to play basketball, what are you doing to do? Not accept it? I bet.
The fact remains that Harris was fantastic at the end of last season after finding his footing in the Harden-era of 76ers basketball.
On the season, Tobias Harris averaged 17.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists. After the NBA Trade Deadline, Harris shot 40% from three point range and elevated his defense in the playoffs, becoming a lock down defender that the Sixers desperately needed after shipping Ben Simmons to Brooklyn.
Say what you want about Harris, but leave the contract talk out of it. He’s a pivotal part of the 76ers pursuit of a NBA title and the 76ers need him to continue where he left off last season.
