Bird Bets: $350 FREE, Eagles Regular Season Series Matchups vs Giants and Cowboys

Cheering for the Eagles is our number one priority during the NFL season. Praying on the downfall of the Cowboys and Giants is a close second.
In 2021, the Eagles went 1-1 against New York and got swept by Dallas.
Philly has had far more success against New York than Dallas in recent years. Since 2010, the Eagles have posted an 18-6 record over the Giants, but they sit at two a piece since the beginning of the 2020’s.
As for Dallas, they’ve had the Eagles number as of late, posting a 3-1 record against the Birds since 2020. The lone Eagles win came against legendary signal caller Ben DiNucci.

Despite splitting with the Giants last season, there’s plenty of reasons to believe Philly can pull off the sweep in 2022.
For starters, the Eagles are a much improved team this time around. Jalen Hurts had arguably his worst game as a pro when his team lost to New York last season. He threw for just 129 yards while completing under 50 percent of his throws on the day. Not to mention he tossed three interceptions.
I would like to believe those kinds of performances are behind Hurts, especially now that he has AJ Brown on the outside and the best offensive line in the game blocking for him.
On paper, New York is easily the worst team in the NFC East right now. Daniel Jones is a dead man walking at quarterback, Saquon Barkley is a shell of what he used to be, their offensive line is marginally improved but still bad, and their wide receiving corps managed to compile a whopping four receiving touchdowns last season.
Defensively, New York doesn’t have much to work with on that side of the ball either. Now that James Bradberry is in Philly, second-year corner Aaron Robinson is getting thrown into the fire and the early returns haven’t been ideal.
Per Pro Football Focus, only three of their projected starters posted a defensive grade higher than 70 last season, CB Adoree Jackson, S Xavier McKinney, and DT leonard Williams. No one on New York’s defense posted a PFF grade higher than 76.0 in 2021.
Given the slim difference in odds between the series going 1-1 (+100) and the Eagles getting the sweep (+140), the best bet is going with a Philly sweep here.

+290 for an Eagles sweep against Dallas is certainly tantalizing, especially now that Dak Prescott won’t have Tyron Smith protecting his blindside for the majority of the season. Nevertheless, the safest bet here is going with the 1-1 series tie at -115 odds.
Since the Eagles’ run of dominance in the early 2000’s, they’ve rarely swept the season series over Dallas. Following their Super Bowl appearance in 2004, Philly has managed to sweep Dallas just two times (2006 and 2011). During the 2010’s, the Eagles and Cowboys split their series seven times.
If history is any indication, the series will likely go 1-1 once again this season. I wouldn’t knock anyone for throwing money at an Eagles sweep at +290. In fact, I’d respect it. But if we’re playing the probability game here, the most likely outcome is a series split.
