Roster Moves: Nick Castellanos placed on IL, Phillies select contract of 26-year-old outfielder

The Phillies have placed OF Nick Castellanos on the 10-day IL (retro to Sept. 3) with a right oblique strain.
As a corresponding move, Dalton Guthrie’s contract has been selected from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The Phillies have DFA’d INF Luis Garcia to make room for Guthrie on the 40.
The Phillies lose Nick Castellanos til September 13th at the earliest, as he hits the IL with an oblique strain. Castellanos has been fighting turf toe throughout the last week and is now sidelined with a different injury.
Castellanos has really picked it up over the last two months, hitting .310/.339/.491 over his last 30 games with 5 HRs, 14 RBIs, 36 hits, 14 runs, and 3 stolen bases.
