Eagles ST coordinator Michael Clay reveals potential options at punt returner

We are just five days away from the Eagles’ season opener in Detroit, and while the depth chart is essentially finalized, questions remain as far as kick/punt return duties.
The Eagles’ primary punt returner last season, Jalen Reagor, was shipped off to Minnesota last week. Although he didn’t get many return yards, Greg Ward was dependable but was waived during final roster cuts.
When asked about the position, special teams coordinator Michael Clay listed Quez Watkins, Kenneth Gainwell, and Boston Scott as potential options:
Eagles declined to name a starting punt returner for this week, want to keep it in house.

Michael Clay mentioned Quez Watkins, Kenny Gainwell, Boston Scott among players who've done it.
The Eagles can also evaluate Britain Covey from practice squad.
A breakdown of each player since coming to the NFL:
Kick Returns | Yds/Return | Punt Returns | Yds/Return | |
Quez Watkins | 8 | 17.3 | 0 | 0 |
Boston Scott | 43 | 21.6 | 6 | 7.2 |
Kenneth Gainwell | 8 | 17.1 | 0 | 0 |
Other Boston Scott, not much experience to go around.
Britain Covey, currently on the practice squad, was viewed as a possible return man throughout camp, but a thumb injury derailed his momentum. The undrafted rookie out of Utah had three return touchdowns last year and has averaged 15.0 yards/punt return over the last two seasons — second-best in the BCS.
As it stands on the depth chart, Quez Watkins is listed as the kick/punt returner with Kenneth Gainwell backing him up. We’ll see how it all shakes out on Sunday.
