WATCH: Darius Slay hawks down D’Andre Swift to save a touchdown

Darius Slay has some wheels.
On the second play from scrimmage in Sunday’s season opener, Lions running back D’Andre Swift ripped off a 50-yard gain along the left side.
Swift had nothing but green grass in front of him, but Slay took a good pursuit angle and caught him from behind to save a potential touchdown.

Detroit eventually scored anyway, but commendable hustle and effort from the 31-year-old nonetheless. Swift was clocked at 20.19 MPH on this run per NextGenStats, so Slay had to haul ass to catch up to him.
The Eagles allowed Swift to rush for 144 total yards; they’ll need to tighten up quick before Dalvin Cook comes to town.
