Report: Former Eagles’ safety joins AFC team

With the Broncos expected to be without All-Pro safety Justin Simmons for at least four weeks, there was a sudden void for them at the position.
Denver is attempting to fill that void with veteran safety Anthony Harris, per multiple reports:

Harris had a bit of an unconventional journey during the offseason: he practiced all summer with the Eagles’ first-team defense in training camp. Once Philadelphia traded for CJ Gardner-Johnson, Harris was released but brought back on the practice squad.
One week later, the Eagles and Harris mutually agreed to terminate his contract so that he could find an opportunity elsewhere, which he could’ve done anyway since practice squad players are technically free agents.
Nevertheless, Harris will now bid for playing time with the Broncos in Simmons’ absence. The 30-year-old safety recorded 72 tackles, three passes defended, and an interception with the Eagles last season.
