Roster Moves: Phillies send Edmundo Sosa to the Injured List

Bad news for the Philadelphia Phillies. Edmundo Sosa is heading to the IL with a hamstring strain.
In a corresponding move, the Phillies have recalled Yairo Muñoz from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Edmundo Sosa heading to the Injured List
Sosa has been a VERY productive option for the Phillies off the bench. Over his last 30 games, he was slashing .315/.345/.593 with 17 hits, two home runs, and 13 RBI.
Hopefully, the Phillies are being extra precautious with Sosa over the final few weeks of the season and he’ll be ready to return to the team come playoff time.
Until then, Yairo Muñoz will rejoin the Phillies from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Muñoz has been terrific at the Triple-A level, averaging .310 with a .775 OPS with six home runs and 37 RBI. He’s bounced back and forth to the majors. In 54 at-bats with the Phillies this season, he’s only averaged .204 with three home runs and seven RBI.
