Red October: Injury Update, Phillies NLDS Roster, and Today’s Starting Lineup

The Philadelphia Phillies take the field today at 1:07 EST, looking to get out to an early 1-0 series lead against the Atlanta Braves.
Ranger Suarez (10-7, 3.65 ERA) will make his first career playoff start, being opposed by left-hander Max Fried (14-7, 2.48 ERA).
The Phils released their updated NLDS roster ahead of today’s game, and two notable names, David Robertson and Nick Maton were left off the roster. They’re being replaced by Dalton Guthrie and Nick Nelson.
Phillies Official 26-Man NLDS Roster
There’s no set-in-stone reason behind the demotion of Nick Maton other than Rob Thomson wanting another outfielder on the roster. Thomson did say that Robertson strained his calf while jumping during Bryce Harper’s HR in Game 2 and had to receive a PRP injection back in Philadelphia.
Nick Nelson will now take Robertson’s place on the roster. Nelson posted a 4.85 ERA in 47 games this season, logging 68.2 total innings pitched.
