WATCH: Padres fans rap video should give Phillies fans all the confidence they need heading into Game 1 of the NLCS
The Philadelphia Phillies will open up the NLCS in San Diego tonight against the Padres. Zack Wheeler is on the mound, facing Yu Darvish.
This is a matchup that literally NO ONE in the baseball world could have predicted and the journey to the NLCS for the Phillies and Padres has definitely been similar.
The Cardinals won the NL Central, the Phillies swept them out of the playoffs in “Baseball Heaven.” The NL East division-winning Braves, who finished with 14 more wins than the Phillies were up next, and the Fightins split in Atlanta before knocking them out at home in Citizens Bank Park over the weekend.
On the other side of the NL Playoff Bracket, the San Diego Padres beat up on Max Scherzer and the New York Mets in the Wild Card round, before going back to California and taking down the Los Angeles Dodgers, a team that won 111 games in the regular season.

As recently as this morning, I thought that much like Citizens Bank Park over the weekend, the fans and atmosphere in San Diego would be incredible tonight for Game 1.
Turns out, I was completely wrong.
A video of Padres fans is blowing up on Twitter. Check it out and you’ll instantly realize why I’m second guessing my Padres fandom compliments.
Padres Fans Ahead of NLCS Game 1
We literally have Meek Mill performing at Eagles games on Sunday Night Football and this is what San Diego is rolling out ahead of the NLCS?
Side Note: I do think it’s going to be a tough series regardless but after watching this video, it definitely serves as a confidence booster.
I can’t believe even went as far as saying that San Diego had an incredible home crowd in my preview earlier today. Now, it’s completely evident that the broadcast was just a bunch of television magic and when you really look at the Padres’ fanbase, it’s just a bunch of dorks.
If this group of Padres fans summarizes the fan base as a whole, then I have never been so relaxed heading into Game 1 tonight. I would suggest Garrett Stubbs adding this to the Phillies Spotify Playlist but I don’t think that would help anyone in the Phillies locker room. It would be better off being sent to the US Military to use as a torture song for our enemies.
