NBA Tip-Off: Sixers look to send early message vs. Boston on opening night

After a long wait, the NBA regular season is finally upon us. The Sixers find themselves in the opening matchup as they head to Boston to take on the Celtics in prime time. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30, and the game will be aired on TNT.

Debuting on the road will be the new-look Sixers lineup. The expected starting lineup played short stretches together in the preseason, but this will be their first real test. Luckily for them, they will be at full strength as no players are listed on the injury report. As for Boston, they will be without Danilo Gallinari (ACL) and Robert Williams III (Knee).

These teams squared off four times last season, with each side taking two games. Given how they are both looking to represent the Eastern Conference in the finals this year, there is sure to be some playoff atmosphere on opening night.

Sixers vs. Celtics betting odds

Looking at the betting odds (via Draft Kings), things are neck-and-neck for this matchup. The Celtics enter as a three-point favorite with -115 odds. On the road to open the year, the Sixers ML currently sits at +135. A rather enticing bet, given all the turmoil Boston has gone through in the offseason.

Moving over to player props, some of the notable lines for scoring include Joel Embiid (26.5), James Harden (18.5), Tyrese Maxey (17.5), Jayson Tatum (23.5), and Jaylen Brown (22.5).
