97.5 hints at NLCS legend throwing out first pitch before Game 3

This morning on “The John Kincade Show” on 97.5 The Fanatic, it was hinted that a “past NLCS legend” will be throwing out the first pitch for Game 3 of the Phillies vs. Padres NLCS on Friday night.
97.5 The Fanatic talks on Friday night’s first pitch
The two names that come to mind are Gary Matthews and Matt Stairs. Of course, we all remember Matt Stairs’ HR in the NLCS in Los Angeles, as he “ripped one into the night” to tie the game, eventually sending the Phillies to the World Series.
Kyle Schwarber’s HR in Game 1 looked awfully similar to Stairs’ blast in 2008
Another name to consider is Gary “Sarge” Matthews. Sarge hit an absolute tank shot in the 1983 NLCS, eventually pushing him to win NLCS MVP and sending the Phillies to the World Series, where’d they lose to the Baltimore Orioles.
Shane Victorino threw out the first pitch in Game 3 of the NLDS, while Pat Burrell threw it in Game 4. Along with those two, Kyle Kendricks, Brett Myers, and more ’08 players have been present at the first playoff action at CBP since 2011.
The Phillies are obviously bringing back a ton of guys from 2008, so Matt Stairs just seems right, especially after Schwarber’s moonshot in Game 1 of the NLCS. Although 97.5 did hint at this, obviously, nothing is 100% confirmed as of right now.
The team did drop Game 2 on Wednesday, but they now travel home for three games with an even 1-1 series. The Phillies are in great shape.
