Eagles vs. Steelers: All-Pro pass rusher TJ Watt “very unlikely” to suit up in Week 8

Fresh off their Week 7 bye, the Eagles will face their cross-state rivals at Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday.
While this rivalry typically features two of the better teams in the NFL, Pittsburgh holds a 2-5 record entering this Week 8 contest and are currently 10.5-point underdogs.
Unfortunately for the Steelers, it doesn’t look like they’ll get any major reinforcements this week either.
When speaking with the Pittsburgh media Tuesday, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin told reporters it was “very unlikely” that All-Pro pass rusher TJ Watt is activated from the injured reserve in time for Sunday’s matchup.
The Eagles will not face Watt when the Steelers come to town
Watt suffered a pectoral injury during opening weekend and has been on IR ever since. He’s eligible to come off the IR list at any time, but it’s clear he hasn’t fully recovered from his injury just yet.
Pittsburgh has struggled to generate much pressure at all with Watt sidelined. They’ve totaled 12 sacks this season, tied for fourth-fewest in football. Their 14.2 percent pressure rate and 3.4 percent hurry rate both rank 30th in the NFL.
The Eagles have been great at keeping Jalen Hurts upright this season. Without Watt in the lineup this weekend, they shouldn’t have any problems protecting QB1 once again.
