Japanese baseball superstar Masataka Yoshida wants to play for the Phillies

Japanese baseball phenom Masataka Yoshida reportedly wants to play for the Philadelphia Phillies.
Masataka Yoshida
Masataka Yoshida a.k.a “Macho Man”
Yoshida is an absolute monster in the Japanese baseball league, coming off the first season of his career with an OPS over 1.000. He slashed .336/.449/.559 in 121 total games this year, with 140 hits, 21 HRs, 81 RBIs, and a 201 wRC+. Yoshida struck out just 42 times in 417 ABs, which is just a 10% K rate.
Masataka Yoshida is a left-handed hitter who grew up idolizing Bryce Harper. He wore 34 at one point in his career because of Bryce, has multiple Bryce Harper jerseys, and even named his dog “Harper.”
Translation: “As a return to the celebration of Jones’ Japan-US total of 2000 hits, I received a uniform signed by Bryce Harper on the back number section via Macachen サ The custom uniform for my dog that was in the belly was also a big hit 🐷 Thank you Jonesy!!!!”
The Phillies already have a corner outfielder problem, but we might as well load up on power hitters. Besides, the motto of this team is “Ball Go Boom.” Get this guy in red pinstripes next year.
