Sixers look to keep gaining momentum in Halloween matchup vs. Wizards

While most have their sights set on trick-or-treating and watching the Phillies host their first World Series game since 2009, the Sixers are also back in action Monday night.
Fresh off an exciting win in Chicago over the weekend, the team continues its roadtrip with a matchup against the Washington Wizards. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
For the Sixers, they could be without a key piece in Joel Embiid. The All-Star center is currently listed as questionable due to a non-Covid illness. Reports also came out that he did not partake in shootaround this morning. On the Washington side, they will be without Corey Kispert (ankle) and Delon Wright (hamstring).
The Wizards currently sit at 3-3 on the year and are one spot ahead of the Sixers in the standings. However, they currently find themselves on a two-game losing streak. Their current misfortunes could lead to even an Embiid-less team being able to keep the momentum rolling in the right direction.

Sixers finally starting to get on track
To put it simply, the Sixers did not come out of the gates as good as anyone first anticipated. They kicked off the year with back-to-back losses to the Celtics and Bucks and then suffered an ugly loss at home to the San Antonio Spurs.
Following that ugly start, Joel Embiid and company have managed to regroup and bounce back. They are now winners in three of their last four matchups.
It’s clear this team still has some things to figure out, but they are starting to win some games in the process (no pun intended). Even if Embiid does miss Monday’s action, the roster is deep enough to pull out a victory and keep trending in the right direction.
