Report: Phillies to wear Powder Blues in Game 5 of the World Series

The Phillies are set to wear their throwback powder blue uniforms in Game 5 of the World Series on Thursday night, according to multiple reports.
After Game 3 of the World Series was postponed, pushing the entire schedule back one day, the Phillies are now set to play Game 5 on Thursday instead of Wednesday. The Phillies have taken part in “Throwback Thursday” since the start of the 2018 season, wearing their legendary powder blue jerseys at all home games that take place on Thursday. Now, they’re doing it in the World Series.
The powder blues are the best jerseys in baseball, and it truly isn’t close. We’ve seen many great moments in those jerseys, including Bryce Harper’s walk-off Grand Slam. The jerseys were worn primarily in the 70s and 80s as a road uniform and have turned into an absolute heater of a throwback jersey that the Phils wear on a weekly basis.
Obviously, the Fightins need to win tonight first. Aaron Nola will take the mound, going up against Cristian Javier, who hasn’t lost since the middle of August. But if the Phils go up 3-1 on Houston, expect a World Series-clinching game in the powder blues.
