Roster Updates: Texans will be without two top WRs Thursday night vs. Eagles

The Texans were already double-digit underdogs this week when all their players were available.
Now, Houston will be without two of their top pass-catchers heading into Thursday night’s matchup vs. the 7-0 Eagles.
Second-year WR Nico Collins was ruled out yesterday with a groin injury, and now Houston will be without Brandin Cooks as well.
#Texans WR Brandon Cooks, the subject of trade talks for weeks who was listed as questionable for personal reasons tonight, is not expected to play against the #Eagles, per me and @MikeGarafolo. Cooks expressed disappointment at not being traded. pic.twitter.com/icJHKMItjM

As reported above, Cooks had hoped to be traded to a contender before Tuesday’s deadline, but Houston wasn’t willing to eat any of his $18M full guaranteed salary next season. Cooks has eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving in seven of the last eight seasons.
The Texans’ remaining receivers (2022 stats)
- Chris Moore: 10 rec, 128 yards, TD
- Phillip Dorsett: 4 rec, 66 yards, TD
- Tyron Johnson: 0 rec, 0 yards
As for Philadelphia, they’ll be without rookie DT Jordan Davis, who was placed on IR yesterday with a high-ankle sprain. Eagles CB Josiah Scott will also miss Thursday’s game due to an ankle injury.
