Injury News: Eagles lose star tight end for extended time

As if suffering their first loss of the season wasn’t enough, the Eagles will now be without one of their offensive playmakers for an extended period of time.
According to multiple reports, TE Dallas Goedert suffered a shoulder injury during last night’s game vs. Washington and will likely be placed on injured reserve this week.
#Eagles TE Dallas Goedert will miss extended time with a shoulder injury suffered in the win over the #Commanders last night, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. Not a season-ender though. Injury added to insult on the play with the missed facemask that put him in harm’s way. pic.twitter.com/ndOPCiwKD2

The injury occurred on the same play that Goedert was dragged to the ground by his face mask early in the 4th quarter. No flag was thrown on the play and the tackle led to a pivotal fumble — a devastating development on many fronts.
Goedert was in the midst of an All-Pro season, catching 43 passes for 544 yards (2nd amongst tight ends) through nine weeks. The Eagles will look to Jack Stoll and Grant Calcaterra to fill the void until his return, with Noah Togiai being another option on the practice squad.
They could also activate Tyree Jackson, whose 21-day practice window expires Wednesday.
