Preview: The Process Sixers host Ben Simmons and the Brooklyn Nets tonight in South Philadelphia

The depleted roster of the Philadelphia 76ers will host Ben Simmons and the Brooklyn Nets tonight in South Philadelphia.
I think it’s safe to say that this is the worst possible situation for the Philadelphia 76ers welcoming Simmons back to the basketball court at the Wells Fargo Center.
What makes it even worse, is how “Nets Twitter” will react to the game and the numbers that Simmons, Durant, and Irving put up against a team that will not feature James Harden, Tyrese Maxey, and Joel Embiid.

I just want to get this off my chest now. These losers on social media just never know when to shut up about certain things like this and the dorks on the “Sixers Twitter” will certainly add fuel to the fire by giving them the attention they so desperately crave.
Harden will miss at least two more weeks with a strained right foot. Tyrese Maxey fractured his foot last Friday and is expected to be out the next 3-4 weeks. Joel Embiid injured his foot on Saturday after running into Georges Niang. Tobias Harris has been dealing with a sore left hip and Furkan Korkmaz missed Saturday’s game with a knee issue is probably. On top of that, PJ Tucker left Saturday’s game with an unspecified injury.
As Jason Kelce Once Said: “It’s The Whole Damn Team”
Needless to say, the Sixers are going to be a little shorthanded tonight and for those foaming at the mouth to return to the days of “the process” and the lackluster G League lineups we used to run out on the court at the Wells Fargo Center, Christmas has come early.

For the rest of us, it’s horrible. Ben Simmons is actually playing basketball against his old team. The matchup against Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid is not happening and now, it’s like we’re living in an alternate universe.
Simmons was yucking it up with none other than Howard Eskin earlier today and talking about he loves Philly fans while never really forming a good relationship with Joel Embiid, which obviously, should come as zero surprise to anyone who has been watching the Sixers play basketball over the last 5-6 years.

Look, tonight will likely get messy for the Sixers. We all know that. However if you’re looking for a silver lining, I would focus on the fact that the bench unit and younger players will be getting a major uptick in playing time, which will only help this team in the long run when the core finally returns from the injured list.
Doc Rivers isn’t one to play younger guys, but now he has no choice but to give them more playing time then he could have ever imagined without Harden, Embiid, and Maxey on the court.
Let’s see what the young kids got tonight against a powerful Nets lineup that has been playing well as of late. The real NBA season doesn’t start until Christmas Day, right?
RIGHT?
Lord help us.
