Danny Green refused to give Joel Embiid the ball in practice when Ben Simmons was defending him

The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Orlando Magic last night 107-99. They did so yet again without Embiid, Harden, or Tyrese Maxey playing basketball.
Tobias Harris scored 23 points and added 10 rebounds and 5 assists to the stat sheet, while Shake Milton scored 24 points and was one rebound away from a triple-double, finishing with 10 assists and 9 boards on the night to lead the Sixers to victory. De’Anthony Melton and Georges Niang also had strong nights, scoring 13 points and 18 points in in the win.

The Sixers will play the Magic again tomorrow in Orlando before returning home to the Wells Fargo Center on Monday night to host the Atlanta Hawks. In the meantime, an old friend of the Sixers was recently talking about none other than Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons on his podcast.
Look, the entire Joel Embiid vs Ben Simmons saga is completely drawn out and everyone is well aware that they did not like each other, so we don’t have to dive deep into that piece of the story.
Danny Green did however, recall a time when he refused to give Joel Embiid the ball during practice when Simmons was guarding him on his podcast, “Inside The Green Room”.
Danny Green Inside The Green Room
I had the opportunity to give Joel the ball against Ben. For the sake of keeping the energy well, I swung the ball across the floor away from that matchup because I don’t know what Joel–because Joel is known to have some chippy plays in him as you have seen throughout his career. He’s not the one to back down anything or hide his feelings or emotions and I know there was probably some frustration with him and who knows how it would have came out during that play, but I thought it was smarter and safer for us as a group to try and keep–if we were trying to bring him back–to move the ball to the other side of the floor. Had I thrown that ball into Joel? Ben and Joel had matched up? I really wish I had thrown the ball in and see what would have happened.
Again, it was no secret that Embiid and Simmons didn’t like each other. It was a shame that we didn’t get to see Embiid play Simmons last week, when Tobias Harris and the bench crew upset the Nets in South Philly.

There’s definitely some bad blood between these two and I guarantee that Embiid is going to come out on top whenever they play each other. Also – imagine being on a basketball team and you literally can’t pass the basketball to someone because you were trying to keep the defender (Ben Simmons) from crying like a baby.
Overall, that’s just a dysfunctional team obviously, but the fact that stories keep coming out about having to look out from Simmons is and always has been, ridiculous.
