Preview: 76ers look to snap 3-game losing streak vs. LeBron, AD, and the Los Angeles Lakers

The Philadelphia 76ers take the court in South Philly tonight at 7:30 EST, looking to snap their 3-game losing streak against the Los Angeles Lakers.
It’s been a rough week and a half for the 76ers, dropping their last three games to the Cleveland Cavaliers, Memphis Grizzlies, and Houston Rockets. Their most recent loss to the Rockets was in ugly fashion, dropping a double-overtime game to a Houston team with just seven wins on the season.
The season hasn’t been easy for the Sixers, and it won’t get much easier up until Christmas, with five of their next seven opponents all having over ten wins. As bad as Monday’s loss to the Rockets was, it was also James Harden’s first game back, and the star point guard was still getting the rust off from missing over a month with a tendon strain in his right foot. Tobias Harris did show out vs. Houston, dropping seven of eight threes and finishing with 27 points.
Tonight’s game kicks off a 7-game home stand for the Sixers, with their next road game coming on Christmas Day vs. the New York Knicks. Real ones know that the basketball season doesn’t start until Christmas anyway

Anthony Davis vs. Joel Embiid will be a battle as it always is, with Davis playing the best basketball of his Lakers career. Davis is averaging 33 PTS, 10 REB, and 2.3 AST in three games in December, along with a 26/11/7 line from LeBron James.
Joel Embiid has played very well against Anthony Davis throughout his career, averaging 22.3 PTS, 10.5 REB, and 2.7 AST in six games. Embiid has averaged two blocks in those six games, along with a +/- of +61.
Tonight has the battle of the big men written all over it. Although the Sixers have struggled recently, I do believe they have the upper hand in tonight’s matchup, as the Lakers have made just 13 out of their last 69 threes. The Sixers, just 2-5 when both Harden and Embiid play, look to take advantage of a Lakers defense that has allowed 100+ points in their last seven games.
