Recap: Flyers fall to Coyotes despite Morgan Frost career game

The Philadelphia Flyers and Arizona Coyotes got together tonight for the battle of the mid and despite a 4-point effort from Morgan Frost, the Flyers still watched another team celebrate a win after the final horn.
1st Period
Honestly, the 1st period was pretty simple. Two bad teams going at it with absolutely zero exciting things happening offensively.
The Coyotes outshot the Flyers 13-9 and capitalized on their 1st power play of the game.
A pretty uninspiring period from the Flyers that ended with them doing absolutely nothing with a power play opportunity.
2nd Period
The Flyers owned this period and the line of JVR – Frost – Tippett had everything to do with it.
The Flyers outshot the Coyotes 17-9 in the 2nd with Frost opened the scoring with a beautiful feed from JVR.
All three of these guys were amazing in the 2nd and 3rd.
Frost: 1G-2A
JVR: 1G-2A
Tippett: 1G-1A
3rd Period
The 3rd was all Flyers.
Started with them dominating possession and having scoring chances throughout.
A Konecny shot got blocked from the point by Nick Ritchie and he made no mistake about it on the breakaway.
Konency was able to redeem himself though, scoring the game-tying goal with the goalie pulled off a beautiful pass from Frost.
That added another point to Morgan’s night, registering another assist giving him a 4 points.
If you’re looking big picture in this game, it’s the play of Morgan Frost and Cam York, and I think John Tortorella would agree with you due to the ice time he gave both players throughout the game.
If Frost can build on tonight and York can continue being York, the Flyers could have some positives going into a very important summer.
