Known Jalen Hurts hater Chris Simms continues to discredit Eagles QB: “He won’t be my MVP vote”

It must be “slander Jalen Hurts” week.
Just days after Micah Parsons claimed that the Eagles’ “system” is responsible for Jalen Hurts success, former NFL quarterback Chris Simms has also joined the party.

“Hurts will not be my MVP vote. It’s an incredible system that the coaches never even ran before, but they had to run it because they couldn’t run their system with Jalen Hurts. It’s the best offensive line in football; it’s the best defensive line in football. If not for the 49ers, they’re the best defense in football. It’s the best rushing attack in football.
It’s arguably the best duo at receiver not named [Jaylen] Waddle and Tyreek Hill in football. It’s a really good tight end in Dallas Goedert when he’s out there. There’s just no way he’s more valuable to his team than Mahomes, Burrow, or Allen. If you put Gardner Minshew in for the Eagles, they’d still be really damn good.”
Simms’ analysis doesn’t shock me in the least, considering last season he released a Top-40 QB list that omitted Jalen Hurts yet included Kellen Mond. It’s interesting how last season, the narrative was Philadelphia couldn’t win with Jalen Hurts; now that notion has shifted to Hurts having “too much” help.
Riddle me that.
Hurts is currently the odds-on favorite to win the league MVP award (-165) ahead of Patrick Mahomes (+175) with four games remaining.
