Preview: 76ers look for nine straight wins tonight against the Washington Wizards
The Philadelphia 76ers remain on the road tonight, facing the 13-21 Washington Wizards.
The Sixers extended their winning streak to eight games on Christmas Day, taking down the New York Knicks 119-112 at Madison Square Garden. Joel Embiid led the way with 35 points, while James Harden added 29 points and 13 assists. The Sixers’ duo combined for a total of 64 points, 12 rebounds, and 14 assists in the win.
Now sitting at 20-12 on the season, the Sixers are in fifth place in the Eastern Conference standings, a half game behind the Cleveland Cavaliers in fourth, and a game behind the Brooklyn Nets in second. They have been tremendous on at home following a 7-0 home stand leading up to Christmas Day, but need to get things moving on the road where they are just 6-7 away from the confines of the Wells Fargo Center.
The Washington Wizards stink. They are 12th in the Eastern Conference, but do hold an 8-7 record at home this season. After losing 10 straight games from November 30th to December 18th, they have won two out of their last three games, beating the Sacramento Kings 125-111 on Friday. Kyle Kuzma led the way with 32 points in the win.

I really don’t have any faith in the Washington Wizards beating the Philadelphia 76ers tonight. I’ll take Sixers and the points backed by strong performances from James Harden and Joel Embiid.
