WATCH: Michigan tries to run The Philly Special against TCU, fails miserably

The College Football Playoff semifinals are underway with TCU facing Michigan.
On the first drive of the game Michigan took the ball straight down to TCU’s goal line and on fourth down, decided to run a play that we all know very well here in Philadelphia. The Philly Special.Â
The Philly Special Fails Miserably for Michigan
Yikes. “Their version of it” turned out to be a horrible mistake and honestly, insulting to the masterminds who perfected the play in Nick Foles and Doug Pederson. Okay so obviously, you have to throw the ball. The fact that Loveland didn’t hit McCarthy on the inside route as soon as he saw the play get busted up was clearly the wrong decision. The play call itself was pretty stupid as well. Michigan has a strong running game and one of the best offensive lines in College Football.
Here’s how it’s done. Sorry you have to click it. Blame the Philadelphia Eagles YouTube
Now as I’m writing this, McCarthy just threw an interception and just like that, TCU is up 7-0.Â
Still, everyone at The Liberty Line has bet the HOUSE on Michigan winning this game. Much like Kansas State jumping out to an early 10-0 lead on Alabama, I think we’ll see something similar in this game.
