McCollum, 23, went undrafted out of Sam Houston State and spent the 2022 season on the Texans’ practice squad as a free safety. The Texas native measures 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, and will provide a versatile option on defense next offseason.
During his time at Sam Houston State, McCollum recorded 229 tackles, 20 passes defended, 4.0 sacks and three interceptions. His twin brother, Zyon McCollum, was drafted in the fifth round by Tampa Bay.
