NBA Trade Deadline: Sixers reportedly have their eyes on Utah Jazz center Jarred Vanderbilt, Naz Reid from the T-Wolves

The NBA Trade Deadline is just five days away and the Philadelphia 76ers are trying to make a few minor, but key upgrades to their roster.
The Sixers really don’t have many needs, as shown last night against the Spurs when their bench, led by Tyrese Maxey (25) scored a season-high 67 points as a unit to guide the team to a 137-125 win in San Antonio.
Still, upgrading the backup center spot seems to be a point of focus before the February 9th deadline.
According to Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer, the Philadelphia 76ers have their eyes on Utah Jazz center Jarred Vanderbilt.
Vanderbilt’s name has also appeared amid the trade deadline conversation surrounding reserve big men, most notably with the Philadelphia 76ers, sources told Yahoo Sports. While teams like the Indiana Pacers have viewed the 6-foot-9 Vanderbilt as an attractive option at power forward, Vanderbilt has been described by league personnel as a leading target in Philadelphia’s quest to fortify its frontcourt reserves behind Joel Embiid.

Vanderbilt is a bit undersized for your stereotypical center in the NBA, being only 6-foot-9, but he’s extremely athletic and doesn’t mind getting dirty under the rim. On the season, he’s averaging 8.3 points and 7.9 rebounds over 24.1 minutes per game with the Jazz.
Another named mentioned in potential trade talks with the Sixers is Minnesota Timberwolves’ big man Naz Reid.
According to ESPN’s Tim MacMahon on Brian Windhorst’s podcast, “The Hoop Collective”
You’re hearing a lot of smoke about Naz Reid. Philly’s another team that apparently has some significant interest there.

Other trade deadline rumors included the Sixers moving Matisse Thybulle out West. The two teams mentioned were the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors.
We’re only five days away from the deadline so stick with The Liberty Line and we’ll keep you updated on any rumors or action through February 9th.
Up Next for the Sixers
On the year, the Sixers are 34-17 and sit in third place in the Eastern Conference standings, just a half game behind the Milwaukee Bucks in second, and two games behind the East-leading Boston Celtics, who they’ll face on Wednesday after playing the Knicks at Madison Square Garden tomorrow night.
