Report: The Atlanta Hawks expressed interest in acquiring Matisse Thybulle before Thursday’s trade deadline

The NBA trade deadline is on Thursday, February 9th at 3PM and reports are flying all over the place about the Sixers trying to acquire a backup center to bolster their bench for the final stretch of the season.
Matisse Thybulle’s name keeps popping up in trade rumors as well, with the Sacramento Kings and the Golden State Warriors already expressing interest.
Now, according to Marc Stein, the Atlanta Hawks have joined the pursuit of acquiring Thybulle before the deadline on Thursday.

Sources say that Atlanta has joined Sacramento as a confirmed suitor for Philadelphia’s Matisse Thybulle. I don’t know that the Hawks will be the ultimate landing spot, but I’ve been advised that the prospect of Thybulle getting traded before Thursday’s buzzer is very real.
It still remains unclear if the Sixers are looking to trade Thybulle, and honestly, I don’t want to trade him. For everything he lacks offensively, he makes up for on the defensive side of the court. The Sixers need someone like Thybulle around the perimeter and having him on your bench with that specific skillset is valuable, especially in the playoffs.
