Leave it to the Philadelphia 76ers to ruin an Eagles takeover at Madison Square Garden during ugly loss to the Knicks

The Philadelphia 76ers let a 21-point lead slip away yesterday at Madison Square Garden and lost to the Knicks 108-97.
It was a pretty lousy effort from the Sixers’ bench unit, with Tyrese Maxey leading the effort with just 12 points. The rest of the bench combined for a total of four points in the loss.Â
Earlier on in the game, the Sixers built up a 33-14 lead at the end of the first quarter and the vibes were electric throughout Madison Square Garden. Eagles chants echoed through the arena.

Fast forward to late in the fourth quarter, and the vibes certainly changed, with “Eagles Suck” echoing throughout Madison Square Garden as the Knicks held a nine-point lead with just over a minute left to play.

Bummer. The Sixers started the game with a 35-point first quarter then managed to only score 18-points in both the second and fourth quarters to lose to the Knicks.
Worth noting, the Knicks were on the second night of a back-to-back, losing to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday night in overtime. In that game, they let up 128 points before holding the Sixers under 100 points the following night.
Just a brutal effort from the Sixers bench. It really highlighted the importance of adding a backup center before the NBA Trade Deadline on February 9th.
