Blake Griffin ripped Doc Rivers last night due to ‘lack of adjustments’ made on defense

Blake Griffin spoke with the media last night after the Boston Celtics beat the Philadelphia 76ers 106-99 with basically half of their typical starting lineup.
Griffin hit 5 THREES last night against a lazy effort by the Sixers’ defense. After the game, he was asked if he felt disrespected for being left wide open all night by the Sixers; he responded by trashing Doc Rivers’ failure to make adjustments.
Blake Griffin rips Doc Rivers for Lack of Adjustments on Defense
“I don’t really take it as disrespect. It hurt them. That was their game plan. Obviously, Doc makes that game plan. They didn’t adjust, which has been sort of a thing. No disrespect, though.”
Honestly, pretty smooth from Blake Griffin here. That was beyond disrespectful, and he knows it. He’s also completely right.
Boston shot 54.3% from beyond the arc last night while shooting 52.6% from the floor. In comparison, the Sixers shot just 32.3% from three-point range and only 44.6% from the floor.
With last night’s loss, the Sixers fell to 34-19 on the season and four games back of the Eastern Conference Leading Celtics. They remained in third place in the standings and will return home to play the New York Knicks tomorrow night.
NBA Trade Deadline is at 3 PM today; we’ll see how Daryl Morey and company address the issues with this basketball team so we can hopefully make a run at the NBA Finals this Spring.
