Report: Sixers acquire Jalen McDaniels, trade Matisse Thybulle to Portland Trail Blazers in 3-team deal

The Philadelphia 76ers are sending Matisse Thybulle to the Portland Trail Blazers in a 3-team deal, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Jalen McDaniels, a 6’9 forward, is headed to Philadelphia from the Charlotte Hornets, with Charlotte receiving their second-round pick back that was owned by the Sixers.
McDaniels is averaging 10.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and two assists in 26.7 MPG for Charlotte this season. McDaniels was in his fourth season with the Hornets and now heads to a Sixers team in desperate need of athleticism.
The trade will reportedly put Philadelphia below the luxury tax as McDaniels is on a $1.8M expiring contract and will be an unrestricted free agent in July. Thybulle is on an expiring $4.4M contract and will be a restricted free agent.
The trade deadline is just two hours away, and Daryl Morey may still have more up his sleeve. The team could now look to add another guy with the new picks acquired from Charlotte. Stick with The Liberty Line for all things Sixers.
