In what should come as shocking news to absolutely no one, a Wildwood Boardwalk game operator has been banned for rigging games.
According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, a game operator accused of rigging games has been BANNED for 10 years and fined $15,500 by New Jersey state authorities. The games in question, were specifically about basketballs being overinflated.
Rigged: Wildwood Game Operator Gets 10-Year Ban
An amusement operator accused of rigging boardwalk games in Wildwood and North Wildwood has been banned for 10 years from running such games and fined $15,500, New Jersey authorities announced Wednesday.
Christine Strothers allegedly ran games with overinflated basketballs — sometimes by as much as three times the manufacturer’s specifications — causing them to bounce erratically to lower the chances of a player winning.

Christine, the mastermind behind the rigging would run “Ladies Day Specials” to get girls’ boyfriends to try to win things, only to find out that the basketballs were overinflated, basically emptying their wallets while trying to impress their lady-friends.
During the summer, inspections were conducted at each game. Besides finding the overinflated basketballs, the commission found Strothers had displayed large plush animals that were not actual prizes and failed to show the prizes that could be won, the order said.
In the article, they even got a little note from the New Jersey State Attorney General, who apparently has nothing better to do than to comment on “Game Integrity” on the boardwalk.
“Every person who plays an amusement game in the State of New Jersey deserves a fair shot at winning a prize,” state Attorney General Matthew J. Platkin said in a statement.
“The Jersey Shore is one of the biggest draws in the state for families looking for fun and recreation and we are making sure those families are not being scammed out of their hard-earned money,” Platkin said.
Man, if only they did the same for election integrity am I right? Haha. Relax people. I’m kidding. Maybe.
Anyways, that sucks for people who got fleeced out of winning anything. I would like it on record that my jumper is FILTHY and I still walked home with a few basketballs over the summer.
Christine thinks she’s slick but nothing stops a pure hooper. Period.
