WATCH: Every pitch of Andrew Painter’s 1st inning vs. the Minnesota Twins

Phillies top prospect Andrew Painter made his major league debut today vs. the Minnesota Twins.

Painter went two innings, allowing two hits to the outfield, one infield single, and an earned run off a sacrifice fly, which the Phillies turned into a double play. Painter struck out one batter with a nasty buckling cutter and ended his day with 29 total pitches, 18 of them strikes.

The Phillies currently lead the Twins 4-2, heading into the bottom of the 7th. Jake Cave and Darick Hall both have a hard-hit, mile-long home run, while Scott Kingery has logged two hits. Today’s game is only available on MLB.tv.
