Report: Flyers will sign Emil Andrae to a PTO for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms

According to Anthony San Filippo, the Philadelphia Flyers are planning on signing 2020 2nd round pick Emil Andrae to a PTO contract for the Phantoms.
I’m told the @NHLFlyers will sign 2020 2nd round pick, D Emil Andrae, to a PTO to play with the @LVPhantoms , tomorrow. He may sign his ELC before the season is out, but not right away. Andrae, 21, finished his season in the Swedish Hockey League last week (6-20-26 in 51 games).

Andrae is a 5’9” defenseman who has spent the last few years in HV71’s program in the SHL. He had a decent showing in his final WJC tournament posting 8 points in 7 games.
Emil is a prospect we have kept tabs on for a while now. The first attribute to jump at you is despite his size he can be quite effective. There’s a lot of poise to his game and he’s got a great eye on the ice with no fear of getting into a tough puck battle.

I’ve heard that he’s been one of the whipping boys of the HV71 fanbase and I’m curious as to why that’s the case.
This has easily been his best SHL season posting 26 points in 51 games. The SHL also doesn’t have the same scoring output as the NHL so it seems rather impressive on the surface.
It’s obviously difficult to find SHL streams anywhere on the internet. It’s nice to be able to finally watch a bigger sample size of Andrae in North America, and hopefully he does well and parlays this into an entry level contract.
