Sixers beat the Cavaliers 118-109 for sixth straight win behind yet another dominant performance from Joel Embiid

The Philadelphia 76ers extended their winning streak to six game last night with a 118-109 win in Cleveland against the Cavaliers.
Entering last night, the Sixers are slated to play seven of their next eight games on the road, so starting things off with a win was huge, even more so against the team that’s locked into the fourth place seed right behind them in the Eastern Conference Standings.
Joel Embiid dominated yet again, scoring 36 points with 18 rebounds, and four blocks to lead the Sixers to victory. It was Embiid’s 24th 35+ point game this season, the most by a center since Moses Malone’s 25-game stretch in the 1981-1982 season.Â
As I’ve noted before, Malone won the MVP Award that season and after last night, sports books have taken notice, with Embiid now listed as the favorite to take home the award this season at +100.
James Harden, whose amazing performance was clearly put on the back burner due to Embiid, finished with 28 points, 12 assists, and six rebounds. Tyrese Maxey added 23 points, while Shake Milton and Georges Niang combined for 19 points off the bench.Â
TYRESE MAXEY: 23 PTS | 4 REB | 3 AST
With the win, the Sixers improved to 46-22 on the season. They are now just 3.5 games behind the first place Milwaukee Bucks and only a game behind the second place Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Standings.
