Andre Drummond gives high praise for Joel Embiid following the Bulls 109-105 win over the Sixers last night

Andre Drummond, who is now a member of the Chicago Bulls after splitting time last season with the 76ers and Nets, gave high praise to his former teammate Joel Embiid and how deserving he is in winning the NBA MVP Award this season following last night’s game in South Philly.

“(Expletive), I wish I could make the decision for the league, but I think he’s an MVP player,” Drummond said pregame. “I think he’s the best big in the league right now along (Nikola) Jokic. Hopefully, they make the right decision. Hopefully, he gets it. I’ll be happy for him, but I think his main focus is winning a championship right now. I think that’s where his mind is at right now. If he gets it, he gets it, but I think he wants the championship more.”

“Everybody looks at him scoring 30 points a night and getting 10/11 rebounds a night, but nobody talks about the two or three blocks he gets a game, too,” Drummond stated. “I think him being a defensive presence and anchor for this team is something that should be spoken about more despite his vast amount of points he gets. I think his defensive presence should have some light shed on it.”
Joel Embiid continued to dominate anyone who dared to get in his way, scoring 37 points with 16 rebounds and three blocks before fouling out in the second overtime period.
Embiid extended his franchise record to 10 consecutive games with at least 30+ points.
Unfortunately, the rest of the Sixers team (specifically James Harden) came up short in the loss. Harden had a rare off-night, which was ultimately the deciding game factor. Harden shot a miserable 2-for-14 from the floor while going 0-6 from three point range. He also turned the ball over five times.
