Look, it’s not even that Mike Malone is wrong here. We should be celebrating both Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid. It is, however, interesting that “this year” is the one that has taken an “ugly and nasty” turn when it comes to crowning the NBA MVP.
I wonder why that is?
Ah. Maybe it’s because the entire world isn’t praising Nikola Jokic as the runaway MVP winner while players like Joel Embiid get discredited and downright criticized in the process. That must be it.
If you want to blame anyone, then please turn all attention to media outlets and the rats that vote for the MVP Award in the first place. We have been talking about them for years now here on The Liberty Line. These “statsexuals” with their ridiculous advanced analytics have poisoned the MVP conversation. On top of that, when you add in the conversations had on Twitter (of all places) then yes, of course the entire conversation is a toxic shit show.

That’s just the way it is.

Back to Jokic and Malone, welcome to hell. You think anyone in Philadelphia cares that you’re “turned” off by the conversation that has unfolded this season about the MVP Award?
I promise you, we do not.
Philadelphia is constantly in the media spotlight and nine out of 10 times, it’s all negative and degrading bullshit about our players, fans, and city in general.
Philly lives in the mud. No one likes us, we don’t care. If Nikola Jokic is having a hard time dealing with an ugly, nasty race to be crowned the NBA MVP for the third straight season, then I assure you, he shouldn’t even be considered a contender to begin with.
