Phillies announce new Uber RideShare Lot at Citizens Bank Park

The Philadelphia Phillies announced a bunch of new ballpark updates yesterday, including faster entrance times through the gates, and a new lot designated for RideShares.
Here’s what the Phillies said about the new lot for fans attending games at Citizens Bank Park this season.
The Phillies released the following information on Lot T now being used for RideShare:
New Uber RideShare Lot for fans! Starting on April 20, Uber will be providing a RideShare in Lot T for all Citizens Bank Park and Wells Fargo Center events. Fans should exit the Third Base Gate and walk along Pattison Avenue toward Broad Street to enter the lot and request a vehicle, which will meet each rider in the designated area. The lot will also include an Uber-branded lounge with seating and a charging station.
Look, I have no idea if this is going to help traffic around the ballpark this summer but clearly, someone needs to step in and figure out a new way to handle the crowds around any of the stadiums in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.
From bizarre road closures, to parking lot opening times that do nothing but create jams down i95, Broad Street, and Pattison Ave, for whatever reason, the city can’t seem to nail down the appropriate traffic pattern on game days.
I do know that trying to catch an Uber or Lyft from the stadiums on game day is an absolute nightmare and typically has me walking the whole way down Pattison past the NovaCare complex just do get out of the congested parking lot areas around The Linc or CBP.
Hopefully adding a new RideShare Lot will help ease the mass confusion by creating a pickup line and designated location for everything.

Side Note: The “No Tailgating” parking at Citizens Bank Park is stupid. Last year during the postseason, security would let you stand outside your car and have a few beers, but you couldn’t sit down, and definitely couldn’t have a mini-grill or cooler outside of your vehicle. If you go across the street to Xfinity Live! Parking or Lincoln Financial Field, you’re allowed to tailgate.
Seems pretty silly but whatever. For now, we’ll roll with the RideShare Lot in T, and faster entrances to into the ballpark thanks to artificial intelligence.
