Known rat and Boston fanboy, Ryen Russillo from The Ringer, lies on national television about Joel Embiid’s dismantling of the Boston Celtics
Ryen Russillo, a known Boston fanboy and a member of The Ringer Rat Pack, continues to take any opportunity to discredit Joel Embiid.
Important Note: Ryen Russillo, who spells his name like a total idiot, has an MVP vote.
Just yesterday, Russillo joined The Herd and stated that Embiid scored the majority of his points on Luke Kornet and Blake Griffin as he dismantled the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night, scoring 52 points in a 103-101 victory in South Philadelphia.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, here are all the highlights from Joel Embiid’s 52-point masterclass against the Celtics. Embiid added 13 rebounds, six assists, and two blocks on the night while shooting 20-for-25 from the floor to go along with a near-perfect 12-of-13 from the foul line.
JOEL EMBIID: 52 PTS | 13 REB | 6 AST | 2 BLK
Originally tweeted by Philadelphia 76ers (@sixers) on April 5, 2023.
The performance was acknowledged by the entire world as one of the greatest ever by an NBA basketball player. Every star player in the league (Dame, Steph, Jimmy) mentioned it and said that there is NO DOUBT that Joel Embiid deserves to win the MVP this season. Jimmy Butler even took it a step further, adding “he should have won it last year too” which you know I absolutely loved.
Point being, there isn’t ANYONE with half of a brain that would say otherwise.
Not to mention, Embiid has averaged 36.8 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 4.3 assists in four games this season against the Boston Celtics. So really, there is NO DENYING what Joel Embiid is doing on the basketball court.
That brings us back to The Ringer and Boston Celtics fanboy Ryen Russillo, who again, spells his name like a total asshole.
Russillo clapped back on Twitter to Sixers’ beat writer and fellow known loser Austin Krell, which at first, I absolutely loved because there’s nobody worse than Austin Krell besides Russillo, obviously.
Turns out, Russillo was just tweeting nonsense, trying to prove his statement. He was lying on national television about what happened with Joel Embiid against the Boston Celtics.
Being the dumbass that he is, there was actually video of him making the claim, which obviously wasn’t what he was tweeting.
Ryen Russillo doesn’t think what Embiid did was special. He thinks that Embiid’s 52-point masterclass against the Celtics, where Embiid scored 52 points with 13 rebounds, six assists, and two blocks while shooting 20-for-25 from the floor to go along with a near-perfect 12-of-13 from the foul line was ONLY BECAUSE he went against Luke Kornet and Blake Griffin.
So let’s see what actually happened…
- Joel Embiid vs Grant: 21 points on 9-10 shooting
- Joel Embiid vs Horford: 10 points on 5-7 shooting
- Joel Embiid vs Smart and Griffin: 15 points on 7-8 shooting
- Joel Embiid vs Kornet: 6 points on 3-3 shooting
So either, Ryen Russillo, who we all agreed is in fact a Boston Celtics fanboy, did NOT watch his favorite basketball team face their longtime rival in the Philadelphia 76ers, or he is on a national broadcast on FS1 flat out lying to people in attempt to discredit the 76ers and Joel Embiid’s quest to be crowned the NBA MVP.
These are the people that get to vote for the MVP Award. This is why with just three games left in the regular season, there is still a debate happening as to whether Embiid has “done enough” to win the MVP.
There needs to be an institutional change on how award voting works in the NBA. Dorks in the media cannot be trusted to give unbiased opinions.
