Nick Sirianni threw out the ceremonial first pitch today at Citizens Bank Park for the Philadelphia Phillies’ home opener.
Nick Sirianni – Phillies First Pitch
Pretty good pitch from Nick here. Unfortunately, we had an extremely rare Phillie Phanatic drop behind the plate.
It’s great to have baseball back at Citizens Bank Park for the first time since last postseason. After a rough six-game road trip to start the season and yesterday’s home opener getting postponed, the Phillies are officially back in South Philadelphia.
The home opener started with Bryce Harper and Rhys Hoskins (on crutches) raising the 2022 National League Pennant, which was the perfect way to welcome the Fightins home.
Harper was also taking batting practice before the game, which you can watch here.

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Hunter Greene ran into some trouble in the bottom of the second and walked the bases loaded. Brandon Marsh then walked, scoring Nick Castellanos from third base. Trea Turner then popped out to centerfield with ducks on the pond to end the inning. The Phillies currently lead the Reds 1-0 as the game moves into the bottom of the third inning.
