The new Sixers’ Playoff Hashtag will make you (me) want to throw yourself (myself) off the Ben Franklin Bridge

Back in the middle of March, I tweeted out that the Philadelphia 76ers would be moving on from their playoff social media hashtag #PhilaUnite and going with something new for the 2022-23 season.
As it turns out, that new hashtag might be the worst hashtag in sports teams hashtag history.
Introducing: #ForTheLoveOfPhilly – the new Philadelphia 76ers hashtag for the 2022-23 playoffs.
My Thoughts on the Sixers‘ #ForTheLoveOfPhilly Playoff Hashtag:
I didn’t even realize that was the hashtag but apparently, that’s what we’re rolling with heading into the most important playoffs of “The Process”.
Embiid is the NBA Scoring Champion. He is going to win the NBA MVP Award too. James Harden won the NBA Assist Title. The Sixers are HEALTHY and have yet to advance out of the second round of the playoffs.
And yet…#ForTheLoveOfPhilly of the official rally cry for fans on social media heading into the playoffs.
Fucking murder me please.
To make matters worse, the Sixers released the following video on Twitter.
The only saving grace from the video above is the fact that they have my guy back in the mix with his horse.
This hashtag is so bad that when I was up at work, I was on the lookout for the playoff t-shirts being printed. I saw this order come through and I didn’t even CONSIDER it a possibility that it was going to be used as the official playoff hashtag.
It’s lousy.
It’s A Philly Thing was lousy too. The only reason I like that one from the Eagles was because we sold a shit ton of merch with that on it.
Bring back the snake. Instead of saying #PhilaUnite with the snake cut up, just say #WinOrDie because that’s exactly what I’ll be doing after I promised myself I wouldn’t get too emotionally invested (really, mentally unstable) during the Sixers playoffs this season.
However, now I’m here. Things are only going to get worse. Saturday at 1PM. We move regardless.
