Stephen A. Smith: ‘I would take Damian Lillard over James Harden in a heartbeat’

The Philadelphia 76ers are about to embark on yet another run at the NBA Finals as they host the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday in round one of the playoffs at 1PM.
While I certainly don’t want to overlook the most critical playoff run of “The Process” era, Stephen A. Smith was on First Take this morning discussing the offseason and upcoming NBA Free Agency. One of the biggest names mentioned, was James Harden, who will currently hit free agency after this year’s playoffs.

While Harden has been adamant on returning to Philadelphia, there’s still a small part of me that believes he would consider other options if the Sixers fail to advance past the second round of the playoffs.
That brings us to what Stephen A. Smith said on First Take this morning, which oddly enough, I absolutely agree with.
Stephen A. Smith: I would take Damian Lillard over James Harden in a heartbeat.
Stephen A. Smith suggests Philadelphia should be targeting Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard if James Harden departs in free agency this summer.
This comes after last night, when Lillard was on ESPN last night talking with Stephen A. Smith during the Chicago Bulls vs Toronto Raptors play-in game and stated that if no significant improvements were made, he would consider leaving Portland.
Damian Lillard wants OUT of Portland if ‘no significant changes are made‘
We can table this discussion until after the playoffs. We do have an NBA Championship to win. This however, is certainly something that we should keep an eye on this summer.
