Darren Dreger: Briere & Flyers plan to be aggressive this summer

According to @NHL_Watcher on Twitter, Darren Dreger has spoken about the Flyers and said that Danny Briere plans to be aggressive especially going into the draft.
Dreger on Insider Trading says Flyers GM Daniel Brière is willing to listen in on basically every asset Philadelphia has. They want to get younger and don’t be surprised if Brière engages and tries to move up in the Draft, he wants to be aggressive.

Words are one thing and actions are another, but to even hear these kinds of statements coming from the front office is a welcoming sight.
The Flyers had been trying to scratch, claw, and say anything possible to avoid telling their fans they are going to lose. The thought of moving up in a draft was impossible because Chuck only moved back.
This season was a fine year in terms of ground-floor foundation building, but it all means nothing if the new regime doesn’t stick to the correct timeline.
Rebuilding teams should be aggressive and that’s the expectation of a team in the basement with assets to work with. Every avenue should be checked as you attempt to offload pieces for assets or a younger and better player.
Anytime Danny Briere has spoken it seems he wants to go about this the right way without any shortcuts. Stick to the timeline while staying aggressive in an effort to shake it up. It’s a promising start for the fan favorite and I have more hope than I did before.
There’s something fun about having a clean slate and we may finally get the aggressive offseason we’ve been waiting on.
So cheers to a year that wasn’t even the worst in recent memory, and cheers to a Summer that could change the trajectory of this franchise for a long time.
