Kate Scott was slamming a beer and getting Sixers fans hyped up before Game 1 of the playoffs against the Brooklyn Nets

Over the weekend, our guy over at Crossing Broad, Kyle Pagan, was taking a trip into the depths of hell on Reddit and came across a post from someone in attendance at The Wells Fargo Center for Game 1 between the Brooklyn Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Pagan stumbled across a post about NBC Sports Philly Sixers’ broadcaster Kate Scott, describing how she ran down to the bottom of her section at The Well to hype up Sixers fans while taking a fans beer and drinking a big ol’ gulp of greatness before heading back up to her broadcast seat.

Of course, that’s content you want to see and/or write about, so while Pagan tried to track down a video, which somehow, in the year 2023 doesn’t seem to exist, someone replied to his tweet with a picture, confirming the story.

Yeah, we’re going to need more of Kate Scott crushing beers with fans before Sixers games.
There’s really no better way to win over a fan base that, at times, has been over the top with their criticism of Scott. It’s no secret that she gets a lot of shit in the city, but when you see stuff like this on social media, it’s pretty clear that Scott likes being here and is trying to get “in the mix” as much as possible with fans, so let’s kick this up a notch and really go crazy during the playoffs.
Side Note: For the haters, it’s pretty damn hard to takeover for a broadcast legend in Marc Zumoff and when you consider that job is also in Philly, Scott has been battling an almost impossible uphill climb since she arrived to the city.
Trust me, I’m someone who has been respectfully critical of Scott and Alaa on the Sixers’ broadcast and don’t get me wrong, I’m not going soft all of the sudden over a sip of beer. While it’s tough to see the full context because we only have a picture as proof, I need her to be destroying beers before games, not just taking a big sip out of one.
Let’s start a new pregame ritual here.
I mean come on Kate, let’s get you a beer bong or maybe even some hard liquor? I have seats through work right behind the NBC Sports Broadcast on the club level. Turn around, give me a signal, and I’ll have a citywide special waiting for you before the next whistle.
Just say the word.
On the topic of drinking and the Sixers, myself, Sean Brace, Buster, and a crew of other people (including Kyle from CB) will be down at Bankroll Philly on Thursday night for Game 3 between the Sixers and Nets. Roll through and we’ll slam a few beers and watch the Sixers together. Should be a good time.
