All eyes were on Jalen Hurts as he addressed the media for the first time following his historic five-year, $255 million extension with the Philadelphia Eagles earlier this month.

Even with the contract extension making Hurts the highest-paid player in NFL history thanks to his $51 million AAV, Hurts told the media today that money doesn’t matter.

“Money is nice. Championships are better.” – Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts’ contract will guarantee him $110 million at signing and just over $179 million in total guarantees. Jalen talked about why he didn’t push for a fully-guaranteed contract.

“Look at all the great teams and great players; it takes a village … We’ve got something special going on,” Hurts said. “We all want to do it for a long time. That was important to me to take that approach with it.”
