Harper had Tommy John surgery on November 23rd. If he’s cleared by doctors tomorrow morning and returns to the Phillies’ lineup as the designated hitter on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium, that means he would have only needed 160 days to recover from Tommy John surgery, which is absolutely incredible since the normal recovery time is usually 6-8 MONTHS.
More from The Athletic
“He’s absolutely amazing. He’s a great athlete. He works hard. He’s focused. He wants to get back. I mean, it’s amazing what he’s accomplished. We have that next step (with the doctor to clear him). But the progress he’s made is phenomenal.” – Dave Dombrowski
“He’s pretty geeked up about getting out there and playing…He’s itching.” – Rob Thomson
The Phillies will look to sweep the Houston Astros at 7:00PM with Bailey Falter on the mound against Jose Urquidy.
