Embiid did do some light running today and now will see how his knee reacts. Rivers did mention the fact that Embiid is doing more on his knee is certainly a step forward, but will still await an official report from doctors and coaching staff later today.
Regardless of whether Embiid is cleared to play or not, it will be interesting to see how Doc Rivers and the Sixers handle the situation.
Do you bring Embiid back in Game 2 and look to make your chances in taking a commanding 2-0 series lead against the Boston Celtics a little easier?
Should you wait and bring Embiid back when the series shifts back to Philadelphia on Friday night?
Honestly, I’m pretty torn on the situation. You definitely don’t want to risk injury and the Sixers already did their job in winning one game on the road. If Embiid is cleared to play Tuesday, which I highly doubt he will be given the uncertainty about his knee sprain, then I would run him off the bench and only use him if you desperately need him.
Of course, that’s not the situation you want and the only reason we are even having this discussion is because the Sixers won last night but now that we have the series lead, Embiid’s health for the remainder of the series and looking ahead to the Eastern Conference Finals is now of the upmost importance.
