The Return of Bryce Harper: Phillies send an outfielder to Triple-A ahead of tonight’s game vs. the Dodgers at 10:10 EST

The game we’ve all been waiting for…Bryce Harper is returning to the Phillies lineup tonight at 10:10 EST vs. Julio Urias and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Starting Pitchers
- Matt Strahm (2-2, 2.31 ERA)
- Julio Urias (3-3, 4.41 ERA)
It’s been 160 days since Bryce Harper received Tommy John Surgery on November 23rd. With an original timeline of the All-Star break, Harper is now officially cleared to come back to the Phillies two months short of that mark in what was the greatest recovery from Tommy John we’ve ever seen.
It’s absolutely insane to think about Bryce Harper’s recovery. He got Tommy John Surgery and missed 30 GAMES.
Last night’s game wasn’t pretty, to say the least, but we couldn’t possibly be in a bad mood after that crucial Game 1 Sixers win. Taijuan Walker got roughed up pretty badly by the Dodgers’ offense, allowing 8 earned runs and 8 hits while striking out six. He allowed three homers and three walks on just 82 pitches in three and a third.
It wasn’t necessarily a bad night for the offense either. With nine total hits and four RBIs, while just striking out six times, the Phillies just fell into too deep of a hole. The hole was so deep that Kody Clemens pitched the last two outs of the 8th inning, where he struck out one. He’s now just 4,671 strikeouts behind his father, Roger.
Even after last night, the Phillies have been playing some great baseball recently. They remain 7-3 over their last ten games and have really started to get it rolling at the plate, especially with RISP.
Now, they get the MV3 back.

Phillies Starting Lineup
Matt Strahm vs. Julio Urias
The Phillies’ most trustworthy starter this season hasn’t been Aaron Nola or Zack Wheeler…it’s been Matt Strahm.
Strahm comes into this game with a 2-2 record and a 2.31 ERA with 32 strikeouts and a 0.81 WHIP. His last outing was back on Thursday vs. Seattle, logging five and a third with just two hits allowed while striking out five.
Julio Urias comes into tonight’s game with a 2.04 home ERA this season while holding a 2-1 record. He’s totaled a 4.41 on the year and is coming off his worst start of the season, allowing seven hits and six earned runs in a 6-2 loss to the Pirates.
