Jaylen Brown calls out Celtics fans, says they have been ‘ok at best’ in series against the Sixers

The Philadelphia 76ers needed just one more win against the Boston Celtics to advance to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since 2001.
The Sixers shot 0-for-9 from the floor over the final six minutes. They scored a total of 13 points in the fourth quarter of a closeout Game 6 on their home court. The result was a 95-86 loss to the Celtics forcing the cancellation of Mother’s Day and a decisive Game 7 on Sunday in Boston.
After the game, for whatever reason, Jaylen Brown decided to speak with the media following Game 6 and used his time to tell Boston Celtics fans that they have been “ok at best” during series home games against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Jaylen Brown: Boston Celtics fans have been “ok at best”
“Celtics fans, y’all love to call us out, right?” Brown said. “I’m gonna call you guys out this time. The energy in the Garden has been OK, at best, all playoffs. Game 7, if you’re there or if you’re not there. If you’re at home, if you watching at a bar, if you watching down the street at a friend’s house, I don’t care.” source
Challenge accepted? Really? lol.
I mean you really can’t ask for anything better than one of the two star players on the Boston Celtics to take the podium and rip his team’s city, home games, and fans in general.
That’s the ideal situation you want if you’re on the Sixers and just choked away a series-clinching Game 6 and have to go back to TD Garden on tomorrow for Game 7 in an attempt to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the finals for the first time since 2001.
Jaylen Brown hates Boston more than Sixers fans
Speaking of the Philadelphia 76ers struggles in the playoffs not only in the current era but as an organization overall, the Boston Celtics are pretty much in the same exact boat as us so I honestly have no idea why they think they are hot shit on social media.
Apparently Jaylen Brown agrees? Maybe that’s a bit of a reach but let’s be honest. The Celtics have only won an NBA Championship one time since I was born which was in 2008. Before that it was 1986, just three years after the Philadelphia 76ers won their last championship.
So please, spare me the sense of entitlement, Boston fans. The only thing the Boston Celtics have going for them is the banners in the rafters which again, almost all of them are 30+ years old.
Trust me, I’m not sticking up for Sixers fans either. Yes, our home crowds are significantly better and have more of an impact on the game but at the same time, not really, right?
Embiid block, taps it in bounds, Harden to Niang for 3, arena explodes.
The Sixers just lost two playoff games at home and the Wells Fargo Center, short on banners, hangs Philadelphia Wings lacrosse players “retired numbers” in the rafters so really they haven’t been much better.
On top of that, there’s a strong contingent of the fan base that actually enjoyed the “process years” and idolized a bad basketball product and all of the players that were a part of it nearly a decade later.
Point being, both of these franchises kinda suck at basketball and their fans (including me) do too. Credit to me for being self-aware enough to admit that, honestly.
That being said, it should give Sixers fans a bit more hope heading into tomorrow’s Game 7 at the TD Garden.
Much like any Game 7, it’s completely up for grabs and there’s no reason to believe that the Philadelphia 76ers can’t go into Boston and get the win backed by Joel Embiid, James Harden, Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris.
This series should have been over already but the Sixers simply can’t get manage to get a full team-effort from this current roster. Game 5 was the only game where the Sixers played to their potential.
They should have won Game 3 and Game 6. It was supposed to be “Sixers in 6” but instead, we have to endure another Game 7 with major impacts to how this team and franchise will look next season if they fail to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.
I like our chances. Kind of. Maybe. We’ll see.
