Preview: Phillies look for their 5th-straight win as Ranger Suarez makes his 2023 debut

The Philadelphia Phillies look to secure the series victory and fifth straight win tonight at 8:10 EST vs. the Colorado Rockies.
Starting Pitchers
- Ranger Suarez (Season Debut)
- Ryan Feltner (2-2, 5.08 ERA)
The Fightins got a big win last night at Coors Field thanks to Bryce Harper doing MV3 things. After falling down 1-0 in the bottom of the sixth off a C.J. Cron sac fly, Alec Bohm and Kyle Schwarber crushed two homers to give the Phillies the 3-1 lead.
Colorado would tie the game up in the bottom of the seventh, but Bryce Harper roped a double to the right-field wall that would score Bohm and Turner, putting the Phillies back up 5-3. Harper would steal third while Castellanos was at the plate and scored on an overthrow from Rockies catcher Elias Diaz.
Losing Jose Alvarado for a little bit of time isn’t ideal for the Phillies, but luckily, their three top arms have held down the fort since his absence began. Matt Strahm, Seranthony Dominguez, and Craig Kimbrel held down the fort, logging three innings of three-hit ball with five strikeouts to lock down the 6-3 win.
Situational hitting has continued to be a bit of a struggle for the Fightins, especially with runners in scoring position, but being able to battle back after 5.2 perfect innings from Austin Gomber on Friday night was a positive sign going forward for this team.
The Phils did lose JT Realmuto on Friday night, but after X-Rays came back negative, the team announced that Realmuto avoided serious injury. Garrett Stubbs gets the nod behind the plate tonight with JT sidelined.

Phillies Starting Lineup
Ranger Suarez vs. Ryan Feltner
Slingin’ lefty Ranger Suarez returns to the Phillies starting rotation tonight after nursing a left elbow injury since the beginning of the World Baseball Classic.
Ranger turned into the Swiss Army Knife of the pitching staff throughout last year’s magical run to the World Series, logging a 1.23 ERA in five appearances (3 starts). He totaled a 3.65 ERA throughout the 2022 regular season with a 1.33 WHIP and a record of 10-7.
The Phillies have another chance to beat up on a struggling pitcher tonight as Ryan Feltner enters the game with a 5.08 ERA on the season. Feltner has logged a 4.35 ERA at Coors Field but is coming off a tough start vs. the Mets, going three and a third and allowing four earned runs.
