Doc Rivers has been fired by the Philadelphia 76ers; six candidates lead the way for vacant position

WOJ BOMB: The Philadelphia 76ers have dismissed (fired) head coach Doc Rivers.
BREAKING: Doc Rivers is Out as Head Coach of the Sixers
The first domino in the 76ers’ fallout from yet another embarrassing Game 7 loss in the Eastern Conference semifinals has fallen.
Rivers will now join Mike Budenholzer of the Milwaukee Bucks and Monty Williams of the Phoenix Suns as playoff coaches that were fired by their respective teams.
I’m not going to list all the reasons why this was the correct move from the Sixers, but if you need reassurance, feel free to check out all of them right here.
The next move that should be announced sooner than later is the fate of James Harden.
Harden has a $35.6 million player option with the 76ers for next season, but he could also turn it down and become an unrestricted free agent. Reports yesterday from Ramona Shelburne indicated that Harden’s decision to accept his player option with the Sixers could depend on who is coaching the team next season and that he wouldn’t want to return to Philly with Rivers at the helm.
Now that the Rivers issue has been resolved, we’ll see how that influences Harden’s decision to remain in Philadelphia.
Wow! I cannot believe the 76ers fired Doc Rivers. I know they lost and didn’t make it to the end but still what a surprising move. Now the question will be… Who will replace him? I really didn’t expect this move coming. I am shocked that they fired Doc Rivers. Please consider subscribing to my blog. Here is the link to my blog: https://sophiakd4.wordpress.com.
